The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees look to snap a season-high five game losing skid this week as they host the Allen Americans on Tuesday before traveling to Wichita and Allen for the first times this season. The Bees have entered a shootout in three of their last five games and have earned three points despite the losing streak.

Tuesday vs Allen Americans, Loss 4-3

HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-7-1) fell to the Allen Americans (11-4-3) on Tuesday night with a final score of 4-3. The second period was dominated by the Bees with three goals in the span of one minute and twenty-three seconds. Allen secured the win after making a comeback in the third period with three goals of their own.

Wednesday vs Texas Brahmas, Loss 2-1 (Shootout)

HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-7-2) fell to the Texas Brahmas (10-6-3) on Wednesday night with a final score of 2-1. Tomas Klempa scored the lone goal for Bees. The game was sent into overtime and then a shootout where the Brahmas secured the win.

Friday at Laredo Bucks, Loss 4-1

LAREDO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-8-2) fell to the Laredo Bucks (6-13-0) on Friday night by a 4-1 score extending their skid to four games. Kyle Radke scored the lone goal for the Bees while on the power-play. The win for Laredo snapped the Bees three-game win streak against the Bucks.

Saturday at Laredo Bucks, Loss 3-2 (Shootout)

LAREDO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-8-3) fell in a shootout 3-2 to the Laredo Bucks (8-13-0) on Saturday as the Bees suffered their fifth defeat in a row. The Bees took a lead in the second period behind goals from Justin Bernhardt and Reid Edmondson but Laredo rallied for the shootout victory.

BEES NEED TO KNOW

. Lee's a leader; Killer Bees forward Aaron Lee currently is tied for the league lead in goals with 13. Lee has been one of the most consistent forwards in Bees history and currently sits second all-time with 72 career goals with the Bees.

. Forward Aaron Lee signed with the Bees for his fourth season. Lee has previously suited up for 211 games with the Bees and is closing in on the record of 223 held by Bill Newson. Lee is set to tie the record on Jan. 13 against Texas and break it on Jan. 14 also against Texas.

. Mark Kroeze was signed by the Bees on November 5 to serve as an emergency back-up goalie after an injury to Dan Dunn. Kroeze is a Minnesota native who is also is the first-ever McAllen City Urban Forester. Kroeze also serves on the Killer Bees off-ice officials crew.

. The Bees have signed an affiliation agreement for the first time in franchise history as the team is now affiliated with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League and Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

. The Killer Bees have now won their first game of the season over the Laredo Bucks in the last two seasons. Last year the Bees opened the season with a victory over Laredo and this season the Bees defeated Laredo 6-3 last Saturday night for their first win of the year.
