QUACK TRACKS

Streaking

The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation (4-0-1) in their last five games. A 5-4 shootout loss to Missouri last Friday halted the Mallards' season best three-game winning streak. The Mallards bounced back from that shootout setback by defeating the Gems in Dayton 4-1 last Saturday night.

Go Fourth

The Mallards overtook Dayton in the Turner Conference standings with last Saturday's win. The Flock is now tied for fourth place with Rapid City. The Mallards are just one point behind third place Missouri and can move past the Mavericks into third with a win tomorrow night.

On the Road Last Saturday's win was the Mallards' fourth consecutive away victory. Quad City has gone 7-4-0 on the road this season.

Production The Mallards have scored at least four goals in four of their last five games and in six of their last eight outings. The Flock ranks fourth in the league offensively. The Mallards average 3.5 goals per game on the season.

Stingy The Mallards have given up two goals or fewer in five of their last six games.

Power Play The Mallards matched a team season high by scoring three power play goals last Saturday against Dayton. Quad City has gone 9-for-29 on the man advantage over its last five games and now ranks fourth in the league on the power play (23.7 percent).

Penalty Kill

The Mallards have gone 14-for-16 on the penalty kill in their last three games and 25-for-28 in their last six outings and now rank fourth in the league in penalty killing (82.9 percent).

Rally The Mallards have come from behind in seven of their ten wins this season and- after tying the score twice late in the third period of last Friday's shootout loss- have rallied in eight of the 11 games in which they have earned at least one point.

Shootout

In the wake of last Friday's shootout loss, the Mallards are now 1-1 in shootouts this season and 2-1 in games decided in overtime or the shootout.

Little Big Man Brandon Marino (12-15-27) has matched a team season best by recording points (4-4-8) in five straight games. Marino is tied for third in the league in goals and tied for fifth in points. He is also tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals (3) and tied for fourth in power play goals (4). Having scored 12 times in his first 19 games, Marino is one goal away from matching the career high of 13 goals (in 73 games) he established as a rookie in 2009-10. He has produced 12 points (six goals and six assists) in his last eight games and 16 points (eight goals and eight assists) 11 games.

Welcome Back

John Snowden (7-6-11) has scored one power play goal in each of three games since returning from an eight game absence (neck) and has totaled six points (three goals and three assists) during that stretch. Snowden is now tied for fourth in the CHL in power play goals (4).
