Mavericks Unveil 2016-17 Promotional Schedule

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks 2016-17 promotional calendar was unveiled to the public today. It features 27 promotional events covering everything from collectible giveaways, to exciting theme nights, to some brand-new special events.

"Our staff worked incredibly hard over the summer to put together a promotional schedule our fans will really enjoy. Between some traditional favorites and new offerings, this is a great lineup of promotions that we're excited to offer," said Mavericks general manager Brent Thiessen.

The Mavericks open their home schedule on Saturday, October 22 against the Indy Fuel, and kick off the season with an Opening Night Tailgate Party at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Parking is free so fans are encouraged to come out early and enjoy the tailgating festivities.

Highlighting the new promotions the Mavericks have on tap for this season is the inaugural School Day Game on Tuesday, November 15. The puck will drop between the Mavericks and Allen Americans at 10:35 a.m. so that local schools can come to the game and take advantage of all the educational elements that will be incorporated into the morning. Students will receive a hockey-themed workbook, special video segments will air during the games, in-game contests will have an educational twist to them and much more.

Among the traditional favorites on this season's promotional calendar are three bobblehead giveaways, five jersey auctions, Wedding on Ice, Star Wars Night, the New Year's Eve postgame skate with the team and Faith and Family Day.
