Kansas City Mavericks News Release
INDEPENDENCE, MO (June 24, 2015) - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday afternoon that they have signed forward Andrew Courtney to a standard player contract for the 2015-16 ECHL season. Courtney set the franchise record for single-season goals (thirty-four goals) during the Mavs 2013-14 campaign, and expanded on that record during their inaugural ECHL 2014-15 season (thirty-six goals).
"Courtney is a fan-favorite and a leader in the locker room," said Richard Matvichuk, Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations for the Missouri Mavericks. "Having a proven goal-scorer like Courtney on the ice is a bonus when you look at what he means to this community and this team. We're excited to have him back in a Mavs sweater this upcoming season."

The Belleville, Ontario native has spent his entire professional career in a Missouri Mavericks uniform, suiting up for the first time as an amateur for seven (7) games with the Mavs during the team's 2010-11 season in the Central Hockey League (CHL).
"Today is a great day. I am excited and honored to be back with the Mavericks for a sixth season," said Andrew Courtney. "I want to thank Brent Thiessen and Richard Matvichuk for giving me this opportunity, and I am anxious to see this team come together and get on the ice in front of the best fans in the league."
The Mavericks begin their 2015-16 campaign on the road in Anchorage, Alaska for their first-ever matchup against the Alaska Aces.
