Independence, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks (11-2-0) evened the season series at 1-1 after a 4-1 victory over the Allen Americans (10-5-0) on Tuesday night, in front of a crowd of 4,287 in Missouri.

The Mavericks were dominant from the outset, as Allen was outshot 42-18 for the contest. Tristen King had the only Allen goal, scoring on the power play in the first period, his third of the year from Aaron Gens and Chad Costello.

"We weren't fast enough to keep up with Missouri, and didn't work hard enough to get a win," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "We haven't competed hard enough in the last several games."

One of the only bright spots for Allen was netminder Joel Rumpel, who made several spectacular stops to keep Allen in the game. Rumpel had 38 saves for the Americans in a losing effort.

The next home game for Allen is this Saturday night against the Tulsa Oilers. It's Candy Canes for Kids night at the Allen Event Center.
