Mavericks Assign Maurice Ager to D-League's Tulsa 66ers

NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2007 ? The Dallas Mavericks have assigned guard Maurice Ager to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers. Ager is the 19th NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season.

The 6-5, 202-pound guard was selected by the Mavericks in the first round (28th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft and appeared in 32 games (one start) during his rookie season. He averaged 2.2 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 6.7 minutes per game.

A D-League veteran, Ager was a member of the Fort Worth Flyers for nine games during the 2006-07 season. He averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game during his first stint in the D-League.

The Detroit native played four seasons at Michigan State and earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors his junior and senior season. He averaged 19.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists, and shot 45.7 percent from the floor in his senior season. Ager ranks 11th all-time in scoring (1,554 points) and fourth in three-pointers made (202) for the Spartans. In 2005, Ager helped MSU reach the NCAA Final Four where he tallied a season-best 24 points against the University of North Carolina.

Ager is expected to be available for the 66ers? next game, Dec. 19, when they host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
