SUNDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Sunday's games
Kasib Powell led Sioux Falls with a 29-point, 11-rebound double-double and teammate Damone Brown tallied 28 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the win over Dakota.
Dakota's Blake Ahearn spearheaded the offense with 24 points and four assists, while Rod Benson chipped in with a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Coby Karl, on assignment to the D-Fenders from the L.A. Lakers, scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out five assists while teammate Stephane Lasme secured a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds in the victory.
Bakersfield's Andre Barrett scored a game-high 27 points, while recording eight assists and five rebounds, in the Jam's loss.
SCORING ON THE RISE: Through 24 days of games in the 2007-08 season, D-League teams are averaging 102.7 points per game, a 4.1 point rise from the 98.5 points teams averaged through 24 games during the 2006-07 season.
STEVE NOVAK BACK TO HOUSTON: Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced Sunday that forward Steve Novak has been recalled from Houston's D-League affiliate, Rio Grande Valley. Assigned on Nov. 11, Novak averaged 18.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting, 7.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in nine games with the Vipers.
