
Maver and Hikosaka Headed to World Juniors

Two RoadRunners will be battling some international competition at the World Junior Championships that begin on December 14th. Luka Maver will be playing for Slovenia and Yu Hikosaka will be playing for Japan.
"We're proud that Luka and Hiko are getting the chance to play on the international stage," said head coach Scott Langer. "They are both hard working, talented players that will take the skills they've honed here in Topeka and make an impact for their home countries."
Maver will travel to Asiago, Italy for the U20 World Championship Division I Group A tournament. Slovenia will be joined by Norway, Latvia, Belarus, Austria, and Italy. In 18 games with Topeka, Maver has a goal and an assist with only eight penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +3.
Hikosaka will hop a plane to Dunaujvaros, Hungary to join Japan in Division I Group B. Japan will face Poland Kazakhstan, France, Ukraine, and Hungary. In his second season with Topeka, Hikosaka has four goals, four assists, and a +3 as well.
