Mattingly, Ruth and Jeter bobbleheads added to promo schedule

The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced the players who will be featured on the team's seven Bobblehead Doll Giveaways this season. Former Yankees great Don Mattingly will be the first player featured on April 10.

The Thunder promotional schedule will feature Bobblehead Doll Giveaways at the following games:

Saturday, April 10- Don Mattingly

Sunday, May 2- Babe Ruth

Wednesday, May 19- Alfonso Soriano

Wednesday, June 23- Bernie Williams in Trenton Thunder Uniform

Wednesday, July 7- Chase That Golden Thunder

Monday July, 12- Stump Merrill (Bobbing Belly Doll)

Wednesday, August 25- Derek Jeter in Trenton Thunder Uniform

All Bobblehead Giveaways are for the first 1,800 fans ages 6 and up. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early. Gates open one hour prior to the start of the game.

"Bobblehead Dolls continue to be popular collectibles with baseball fans everywhere," said Thunder General Manager Rick Brenner. "We are very excited to be able to offer such a unique and fun collection of bobblehead dolls for our fans this year."

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS MONDAY?

Your first chance to order individual game tickets for the 2004 Thunder season is coming up on Monday, February 2 at 10:00 AM. Tickets will be available by phone, 609-394-3300 and online through www.trentonthunder.com at that time. If you would like to make your purchase in person the Thunder will be accepting orders at Waterfront Park starting Saturday, February 7 at 10:00 AM. The ticket office will be open from 10 AM until 3 PM every Saturday beginning February 7. Call early and get the best seats!

SEE A SPECIAL YANKEE GUEST SPEAKER

The Thunder will hold its annual Welcome North Dinner on April 7 at Angeloni's Cedar Gardens in Hamilton. The Welcome North Dinner is your chance to be one of the first people to meet the 2004 Thunder and welcome the new team to Trenton. The dinner is your first opportunity to get autographs, photographs and enjoy a Suprise Yankee Guest Speaker. Doors open at 6:00 and dinner will be served at 6:30. The price for the dinner is $21 for adults and $19 for children under age 12. Tables of ten are also available. To make your reservation please call 609-394-3300 ext 118.

YOU MAY NOT BELIEVE IT BUT...

With temperatures in Trenton being consistently in the teens and 20's over the recent weeks you may not believe it but spring is almost here. New York Yankees pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training in Tampa, FL on February 18. All Yankees Minor League players are scheduled to report to Tampa on March 5.

I played 1B, 3B, DH, C and OF during my time in Trenton.

I was named the 2001 Trenton Thunder/ Hamilton Jewelers Fan Favorite Award Winner.
