(ALTOONA, PA) – Uncle Charley's Sausage Company has retained naming rights to the left-field grille area at Blair County Ballpark through the 2005 season, the Altoona Curve announced today. Blair County Ballpark is the home of the Curve, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In the deal announced today, Uncle Charley's retained naming and preferred marketing rights to the grille area, located on the Ansley RV Party Deck in the left-field corner of the ballpark. The popular sausage company will continue to receive prominent signage in the new area and will have its popular products sold throughout Blair County Ballpark. In addition, Uncle Charley's will have enhanced marketing opportunities in the grille area and its logo will be used in all of the Curve's marketing materials when referencing the area.

"The addition of Uncle Charley's Sausage to the ballpark menu last year was a hit with our fans and we are excited to continue to offer this popular product at Blair County Ballpark," said Curve General Manager Todd Parnell. "Our partnership with Uncle Charley's is very unique and we are glad to be able to promote the availability of their product here at the ballpark and in markets throughout the region."

"It is with great joy to be associated with such a great group of people," said Uncle Charley's President Charles S. Armitage. "I can't think of a better place to spend and have a great time than at a ballgame."

Uncle Charley's Sausage Company is based in Vandergrift, Armstrong County, and has been serving its products since 1988. Today, Uncle Charley's sausages are found in supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia and parts of New York. The fresh pork sausage products are available in flavors such as Country, Sweet Italian, Hot Italian, Extra Hot Italian, Hot Italian with peppers and onion, Bratwurst and Fresh Kolbassi.

The Uncle Charley's Grille was one of the new additions to Blair County Ballpark that was completed prior to the start of the 2003 season. Also new to the 7,200 seat facility in 2003 was the First American Bank Picnic Pavilion, located down the third-base line, the Ansley RV Party Deck, on which the Uncle Charley's Grille sits, and a new Outfield Reserved seating section.

The Altoona Curve will open its 2004 season schedule at Blair County Ballpark on Thursday, April 8th at 6:35 p.m. against the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox' affiliate). Season tickets, mini-plans, flex books and group outings for the 2004 season are currently available through the Curve Ticket Office.
