Owen Sound Attack News Release

Overage Attack forward Matt Philip will continue his hockey career with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men next year in Antigonish, playing in the Atlantic USport conference.

Philip was acquired from the Niagara IceDogs last summer as a veteran forward that would provide speed and scoring to the Attack lineup. The Ilderton, ON native went on to post a career high 19 goals in 48 game games played. Philip was part of the leadership group for the team, being awarded an 'A' prior to the campaign.

Philip was a leader of the team in the community, including shaving his head to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society as part of Hockey Fights Cancer and participating in many school visits and charity events.

The Owen Sound Attack wish to congratulate Matt Philip on his commitment to the X-Men, where he will join Attack alumni Santino Centorame and Bryson Cianfrone.
