Mobile BayBears News Release

MOBILE, Ala. - The Los Angeles Angels announced Sunday that right-handed pitcher Matt Ball has been promoted from the Double-A Mobile BayBears to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Ball, 24, posted a 1-3 record with a 3.57 ERA in eight starts with Mobile to begin this season. He struck out 45 batters in 35 1/3 innings pitched while issuing just 13 walks. Ball made four starts with the BayBears to finish the 2018 season, going 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA.

The San Diego native was originally selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Bonita Vista High School. Ball has a career 15-26 record with a 5.17 ERA and has struck out 331 batters in 348 1/3 innings pitched. This is the first time he has been promoted to the Triple-A level.
