Mathieu Aubin reassigned to Cincinnati

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League announced today that the club has sent forward Mathieu Aubin back to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. Aubin will fly to Cincinnati tonight and join the Cyclones tomorrow morning.

Aubin, 20, has appeared in 17 games with the Bulldogs this season, collecting five points (2-3-5) and four penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound rookie centreman scored his first-career AHL goal on November 3rd, 2006, when Hamilton defeated the Syracuse Crunch 5-3.

In 25 games with Cincinnati in the ECHL this season, the native of Sorel, Quebec, has registered 29 points (8-21-29), a plus-4 rating and 24 penalty minutes. Aubin was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 5th round, 130th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, March 16th at 7:30 p.m. when they travel to the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter in Syracuse to battle the Crunch.
