San Antonio FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio FC (6-7-6) will visit Sacramento Republic FC (9-6-6) at Bonney Field on Saturday, August 6 at 10 p.m. central time. The match will be the first time the two clubs meet, and the only encounter between the two this season.
Coverage of the match will be available at SanAntonioFC.com and the USL Match Center.
SAFC will look to get back in form following their narrow 2-1 loss at Swope Park Rangers last weekend. The club recorded only their second back-to-back losses in franchise history against SPR after falling 2-3 to LA Galaxy II the week before.
Sacramento Republic FC will host San Antonio after recording a 1-0 win over OKC Energy FC at Taft Stadium on Tuesday. The club is currently in fourth place in the league standings with 33 points, and has scored 25 goals while conceding 20 so far this season.
San Antonio FC is now in 11th place in the league table after reaching seventh place during their six-match unbeaten streak from June 11 to July 16. The club has tallied 24 goals and conceded 21 on the season, and will aim to earn three valuable points on the road.
Goalkeeper Josh Ford will be available for the Alamo City club once again after serving a three-match suspension for his involvement in a scuffle during the match against OKC Energy FC at Toyota Field on July 9.
The match against Sacramento will be the second of three consecutive away games for San Antonio FC. The club will then visit Arizona United SC on August 13 before facing the club again at Toyota Field just four days later.
