What's the latest on the team?

Republic FC (2-2-1, 7 points) bounced back from consecutive losses by claiming a point in the standings following Wednesday night's 3-3 draw with Oakland Roots SC.

The Indomitable Club grabbed an early lead by way of Dariusz Formella in the opening half with Luis Felipe providing the assist - the first of his Republic FC career. Roots answered with a pair of goals to grab the lead before Cameron Iwasa's strike leveled the score at two-all. Eight minutes later, Oakland obtained its second lead of the game before Jordan McCrary equalized after Duke Lacroix picked out his fellow defender and registered his first career SRFC assist.

Wednesday's match saw Hayden Sargis named to the starting eleven for the first time in 2021 and newcomers Chris Gloster and Nabi Kibunguchy made their inaugural Republic FC debuts. Gloster - on-loan from NYCFC - started the match while Nabi - on-loan from Minnesota United - logged 11 minutes in what was his first professional appearance.

What about the visitors?

Orange County SC rebounded from its 1-0 loss to open the season with the May 22 victory over Sacramento.

After earning its first win of the year, OCSC followed up that performance with a 4-3 home defeat at the hands of LA Galaxy II. The hosts fell behind by two goals before Chris Wehan netted his team-best second of the season. Los Dos scored two more goals through Jorge Hernandez to cancel out strikes from Eero Markkanen and Mikko Kuningas.

Unfortunately for OCSC, one of its prized offseason acquisitions appears done for the season after former SRFC striker Adam Jahn suffered a non-contact knee injury.

Head-to-Head

The last four times Orange County has made the trip north to take on Republic FC, the boys in Old Glory Red claimed all three points in three of them.

Even though OCSC managed to win the last meeting - 1-0 on May 22 - the last time Orange County visited Sacramento, Republic FC pulled off a riveting come-from-behind victory. Despite playing down a man and allowing a goal in the opening five minutes, late strikes from Dariusz Formella and Villyan Bijev ensured all three points were staying in Sacramento.

Overall (USL regular season): 9-7-3

Home: 6-4-1 (GF: 16, GA: 11)

Away: 3-3-2 (GF: 13, GA: 10)

The Indomitable Club and the Sacramento County Public Health office are collaborating to support community health as the region prepares to open up. The first step element of the partnership is a trio of pop-up vaccine clinics on matchday. But it gets better... you can get in for free.

Eligible fans (ages 12 and up) can select an appointment to get their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and get a free ticket to Saturday's game. Republic FC Indomitable Members received first access to appointments and can still conveniently sign up for timeslots on their way into the match.

With the support of state and county health officials, Republic FC announced that capacity will be increased as a result of the pop-up vaccine clinics.

And with the state issuing new guidance for sporting events after June 15, the Indomitable Club is continuing its preparations to return to a full capacity at Heart Health Park. On June 26, the club will welcome back all vaccine participants for their second dose, with a capacity crowd when Phoenix Rising FC return for their second match in Sacramento.
