Oakland Roots is coming off a loss to LA Galaxy II after a two week hiatus. Roots faced a short handed roster in their return to action, and were unable to come away with any points in their second visit to Galaxy II's stadium this season.

The match marked the debut for Roots midfielder Jose Hernández and recently signed forwards Brandon Allen and Joe Restani. Additionally, forward Tyler Blackwood made his return to the field after recovering from an injury.

This is the second time this season roots are set to face Orange County. In the teams first meeting, Orange County came out victorious despite Roots controlling possession for the majority of the match.

Orange County enters the match with a recent loss to Las Vegas Lights this past Tuesday. Orange County forward Ronaldo Damus leads the team's attack with seven goals to date, putting him in fifth place in the league in goals scored. The defense is anchored by Michael Orozco, a former US Men's National Team defender and current captain of Orange County SC. While Orange County is currently sitting in second place in the Pacific Division standings, they have been unable to come away with a win in any of their last four matches.
