Red Bull New York News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - After two home wins in a span of six days, the New York Red Bulls are in Orlando on Friday night for a second meeting in three weeks with Orlando City SC. New York will look to continue its ascent of the Eastern Conference standings against an Orlando City side that is undefeated at home this season.
Two weeks ago, the Red Bulls defeated Orlando City, 3-2 at Red Bull Arena, to snap a four-game losing streak. A goal from Mike Grella erased an early deficit, while Bradley Wright-Phillips finished off the Lions with his first two goals of the season.
Last weekend, New York continued its winning ways with a 4-0 win over league-leaders FC Dallas. Grella scored again, along with Felipe, Sacha Kljestan and Lloyd Sam.
Felipe and Grella lead the team with three goals each, while Sam has a goal and three assists over the last two games. Kljestan has assists in three straight, and leads all of MLS with five helpers on the season.
Orlando enters at 2-2-4 overall, with a 1-0-3 mark at home. Like the first meeting with New York, Orlando enters after a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution. This time it was the Lions finding a late equalizer, with Carlos Rivas scoring in the 90th minute. Cyle Larin leads the team with four goals, while Brazilian star Kaka, with two goals and two assists this season, is expected to return to the lineup.
After Friday, New York continues on with another road match, the first meeting of 2016 with D.C. United on Friday, May 13.
New York is next home on Wednesday, May 18 to host the Chicago Fire at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all Red Bulls home matches are available by visiting www.NewYorkRedBulls.com/tickets or calling 1.877.727.6223.
