Birmingham Legion FC News Release
MATCH INFO:
Birmingham Legion FC at Nashville SC
Tuesday, September 17 - 7:00 PM Kickoff - First Tennessee Park, Nashville, TN
Watch - My68, ESPN+
Legion FC looks to regain some momentum and kick off a new winning streak in an away contest at Nashville SC.
BHM has seven shutouts and has outscored opponents 17-5 in the last ten matches, but with a recent loss to Saint Louis FC, the team is just one point above the playoff line with seven matches to play. According to midfielder Mikey Lopez, "Every game is a playoff game now, and it puts a little extra pressure on us because we can't afford to drop points."
Nashville SC currently sit in 4th place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference standings, more than comfortably into the playoffs and fighting to keep their hopes alive for a first-place regular season finish. The first time these two teams met, Nashville won in Birmingham, 1-0, in May on a penalty scored by Daniel Rios.
NSH pairs a potent attack that is eighth in the league with 49 goals with an even stronger defense that is tied for third in the league with just 25 goals allowed. Going forward, the attack is spurred on by Lebo Meloto who is second in the league in assists (9) and 12th in chances created (57), and those chances are more often than not buried by Rios, who is second in the USL in goals (17) and fourth in shots (66).
#9 Chandler Hoffman (ruptured PCL), #13 Tyler Savitsky (groin), #16 Daigo Kobayashi (knee), #27 Eddie Opoku (ankle), and #88 Femi Hollinger-Janzen (concussion) remain out for Legion FC, per the VIVA Health injury report. #6 Anderson Asiedu is also unavailable for selection after picking up a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation.

The boys return home to take on Indy Eleven at BBVA Field on Friday, September 20 at 7:00PM. Tickets are available at bhmlegion.com/tickets or by calling the Legion FC Ticket Office at 205-791-7145.
