ATL UTD 2 hosts Charleston Battery in a makeup game after the original July 5 match was postponed due to inclement weather. This marks the fifth meeting all-time between both teams and the second this season. In this first matchup on May 25 at MUSC Health Stadium, both sides played to a 1-1 draw. Laurent Kissiedou put Atlanta ahead in the 71st minute with his first goal of the year, but Zeiko Lewis equalized for the Battery eight minutes later to split the points. ATL TUD 2 is 1-2-1 all-time against Charleston.

Atlanta is coming off a 1-1 draw against Tampa Bay Rowdies on Sept. 14 at Al Lang Stadium. Laurence Wyke scored his third goal of the season after he headed in a loose ball in the box from a corner kick in the 13th minute. However, Sebastian Guenzatti leveled the match in the 31st minute when he scored from a counter attack.

Charleston fell 1-0 to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday at Highmark Stadium. Steevan Dos Santos scored in the 69th minute to keep the Battery winless in its last four road matches. Charleston is one point below the playoff line heading into Wednesday's match and is 3-6-4 away from home in 2019.
