WHAT TO WATCH FOR

Something's Got to Give: Sunday night's match will feature two teams desperately seeking three points. Though the two clubs sit seven spots apart in the standings, they are just five points apart. With both clubs winless in the last month, three points would be a big shot in the arm to solidify Greenville's spot in the top quarter of the table or to put Ft. Lauderdale just below the playoff cut-off.

Finding goal scorers: The defining characteristic of John Harkes' Triumph squads in 2019 and 2020 was strong defense and clean sheets. Injuries in 2021 have made it difficult for the Triumph to find continuity in the starting lineup and consistency in their defensive efforts. Those struggles have been acutely felt in their last two home matches, allowing three goals each match to a dangerous Tormenta side. In training this week, Harkes communicated to the team that they need to get back to the basics of what has made them great. A strong defensive effort combined with facing a club that's tied for most goals conceded in 2021 could be the recipe to stabilize the squad and get their first win in over a month.

NEWS AND NOTES

Injury Report: Greenville hopes to see Lachlan McLean return to action from a leg injury this weekend, while midfielder Aaron Walker is questionable after collecting an injury in training this week. Midfielder Noah Pilato remains out with a back injury, with an expected return in 3-5 weeks.

League One Standings: Greenville continues to hold at third place in the standings with 24 points, but gap below them has closed up and the club could see themselves drop below the playoff cut line if the weekend doesn't play out in Greenville's favor. Ft. Lauderdale sits tenth out of twelve clubs.
