Forward Madison FC News Release
Forward Madison took on South Georgia Tormenta FC on a gorgeous night in Madison, WI. The game got off to a flying start with four quick chances for the Flamingos, but no goal. That changed in the 28th minute when Jake Keegan played a ball into the box and Josiah Trimmingham got a foot on it and put it in the back of the net to give the Flamingos the lead. This was Trimmingham's first goal for the Flamingos this year. FMFC took the 1-0 lead into the break and looked to be in control of the match.
The start of the second half came with a penalty awarded to the visitors. Tormenta converted from the spot via Marco Micaletto and tied the match at 1-1. After a back and forth possession battle, FMFC's Gustavo Fernandes served up a ball to Justin Sukow, who headed the ball into the back of the net to regain the lead at 2-1. After the goal, the Flamingos largely controlled the ball, preventing South Georgia attempts at equalizing.
Up next at Breese Stevens, Forward Madison welcome Toronto FC II on Wednesday, August 18. The win puts Forward up to 8th on 22 points, just 1 point below South Georgia Tormenta FC who sit 5th with 4 games in hand.
