ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 4 when it travels to face NYCFC at Yankee Stadium in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Atlanta (21-7-6, 69 points), the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, faces No. 3 seed NYCFC (16-10-8, 56 points), who advanced by defeating Philadelphia Union in the Knockout round. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
As the No. 2 seed, Atlanta earned a Knockout-round bye and awaited the highest remaining seed. In its last match, Atlanta fell 4-1 to Toronto FC at BMO Field on the final day of the regular season. Josef Martinez capped-off a historic regular season with his 31st goal to secure the 2018 MLS Golden Boot.
NYCFC beat Philadelphia Union 3-1 at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 31 to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, David Villa and Maxi Moralez each tallied a goal for the home side.
The second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, Nov. 11. Official kickoff time and broadcast information for that match will be released Sunday night.
