Atlanta will take on Sporting KC II in Kennesaw for its final home match in its five-game homestand. ATL UTD 2 earned three points Sunday night against Louisville City FC in Jack Collison's managerial debut. Aiden McFadden scored the lone goal, which is his fifth of the season putting him tied for second most goals in the league and tied for first in the Eastern Conference. Additionally, Alec Kann recorded the shutout with seven saves en route to the 1-0 win. It was Atlanta's third clean sheet of the season, which is tied for first in the league.
Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the MLS II teams since Swope Park Rangers became SKC II. Kansas City earned its first win of the season versus FC Tulsa on Wednesday, June 2. Although Tulsa scored an early goal, SKC II would find the back of the net four times to record the win. Three of the goals came from Sporting KC Academy players.
This is the first of four meetings between the two clubs this season.
