Match Forecast: Reign FC Takes on Undefeated Red Stars in Saturday's Matchup

SEATTLE (May 29, 2015) - Seattle Reign FC (2-2-1, 7 pts) will attempt to extend its unbeaten streak to three games on Saturday, May 30 against the Chicago Red Stars (4-0-2, 14 pts). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on the Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium, with a live, high-definition webstream available at YouTube.com/NWSL.

The matchup is Seattle's first NWSL game in three weeks. After a break from league action, Reign FC played an international friendly against the China PR Women's National Team last Friday.

Despite trailing 1-0 at the half, a 48th minute goal from forward Beverly Yanez off a free kick from Scottish international Kim Little tied the game en route to a 1-1 final against a side preparing for June's FIFA Women's World Cup.

Chicago sits atop the NWSL standings with 14 points and is the league's only remaining undefeated side. The Red Stars are four points clear of the next closest team, despite having played one fewer match, and own a goal differential of plus-6.

Both teams will have considerable changes in their lineups than the sides that played to a 3-2 Chicago victory on April 18.

For Seattle, forward Megan Rapinoe and goalkeeper Hope Solo have departed to train with the U.S. Women's National Team, while midfielder Jessica Fishlock will miss the match while serving a red card suspension. Midfielder Keelin Winters, who missed the first matchup with the Red Stars due to injury, is expected to be in the starting 11 for Saturday.

Chicago will be without eight players - including the U.S. international quartet of defenders Lori Chalupny and Julie Johnston, midfielder Shannon Boxx and forward Christen Press - for World Cup preparations.

Goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc, and forwards Adriana Leon and Melissa Tancredi are also currently training with the Canadian Women's National Team, while defender Abby Erceg will suit up for Australia.

The Red Stars roster for Saturday's match will feature just four players to start all six games so far this season, including midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo, defender Taryn Hemmings, and forwards Danielle Colaprico and Jen Hoy.

Chicago will also still have the services of rookie forward Sofia Huerta, who is tied for the NWSL lead in goals with five, and DiBernardo, the league-leader in assists with four.

Saturday's game is the last regular season matchup between Seattle and Chicago. Despite goals from Yanez and defender Kendall Fletcher, Reign FC fell in its lone road game against the Red Stars on April 18 after a stoppage time goal.
