
Marvin Loria Called up by Costa Rica for Pre-Olympic CONCACAF Qualifying Camp

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers midfielder Marvin LorÃÂa has been called in by Costa Rica for a pre-2020 Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying camp from Feb. 15-25. During that span, Costa Rica will play friendly matches against Honduras at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica on Tuesday, Feb. 23 and another match against Honduras at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium on Thursday, Feb. 25.
In 21 appearances (12 starts) across all competitions for the Timbers in 2020, LorÃÂa, 23, tallied two assists in 905 minutes played. LorÃÂa registered two assists in 17 games played (9 starts) for Portland during the 2020 MLS regular season. Across three seasons played (2018-20) in his career for the Timbers, LorÃÂa has totaled two goals and three assists in 43 appearances (22 starts) across all competitions.
LorÃÂa has made several appearances for Costa Rica at the youth level, including three appearances (one start) at the 2017 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Costa Rica. Additionally, LorÃÂa received his first call-up to the senior men's national team on Feb. 2, 2019, starting and playing 77 minutes in a 2-0 loss against the U.S. Men's National Team at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
Costa Rica has been drawn into Group A, alongside the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the United States, for the Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico, which takes place March 18-30.
