Kansas City Outlaws News Release

KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Kansas City Outlaws have partnered with the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission (KCMCC), the Kansas City Royals, and the NHL Alumni to benefit the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE) and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM).

The partnership involves all activities in the Outlaws Martin Luther King Day game against the Fury. Firefighters and police officers will sell tickets to the game to family, friends and supporters, with a portion of the proceeds from tickets sold donated to SAFE, which provides immediate financial assistance to the families of police officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel killed in the line of duty. The NLBM will also sell tickets with a portion of the proceeds from their tickets going to the museum.

Today, the Outlaws players will wear Kansas City Monarch jerseys. The unique vintage hockey jerseys will sport the names of various Negro League players who wore the Monarchs jersey, including local legend Buck O'Neal. The exclusive Monarch jerseys will be auctioned off, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the NLBM (www.nlbm.com).

Today's game will be followed by an Alumni game between the Kansas City Royals Alumni and a National Hockey League Alumni Team. The Kansas City Royals Alumni jerseys will be auctioned off, with all proceeds donated to SAFE (www.survivingspouseandfamily.org).

NHL 21, led by the efforts of their President Paul McGannon, have secured players for the NHL Alumni Team. Denny Mathews, the voice of the Kansas City Royals, along with the rest of the Royals organization, have secured players for the Kansas City Royal Alumni Team.
