January 17, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Port Huron Flags News Release

In Brief

· 1/12: Fight Generals...

This was the third meeting between these two clubs within the past two weeks, and it showed. The Beacons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second period off of goals by Joey Sewell (18) and Rico Fatticci (1,2). Flint scored its only goal in the second period. After Flint scored its lone goal the floodgates opened and a melee ensued. The teams combined for 108 penalty minutes including five players receiving game misconducts. After all was said and done the teams combined for 182 penalty minutes. Aaron Brand (11) and Trevor Edwards (8) were the other goal scorers. Daniel Berthiaume made 32 saves on 33 shots to earn his third win of the season.

· 1/14: Beacons travel to Muskegon

The Fury power play proved to be too much for the Beacons as the Fury scored three power play goals on five attempts. Joey Sewell (19) scored his second in as many days and Trevor Edwards (9) scored in his fifth straight game. Daniel Berthiaume made 18 saves on 22 shots in the loss.

· 1/15: Second Meeting with Fort Wayne

The game was delayed an hour and a half due to a breakdown on the Fort Wayne team bus on its way to Port Huron. The delay did not stop the Komets from coming out flying. The Komets scored just 2:11 into the game. The Beacons responded three and a half minutes later with a goal by David Beauregard (28). From there on out it was Fort Wayne who controlled the tempo. Fort Wayne scored four more times and forced starting goalie Stu Dunn out of the net just one minute into the second period. Daniel Berthiaume came in and stopped 9 of 10 shots.
