
Marotta, Rush Shut out Aces 2-0 Saturday

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Max Nicastro and Mark Miller scored goals, and goaltender Sam Marotta stopped 30 shots for the shutout as Rapid City edged Alaska 2-0 Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena.
The Rush salvage the final game of the three game series...Alaska winning 6-5 in a shootout Thursday and 3-2 in regulation Friday.
After a scoreless first period, Nicastro got his 9th goal of the season at the 11:19 mark of the second. Mikhail Stefanovich and Sean Erickson assisting.
In the third period, Mark Miller slipped a splendid backhand shot top-shelf on Alaska goaltender Lukas Hafner assisted by Ryan Walters and Ryan Misiak. The goal was Miller's 2nd of the season.
Marotta earned his 7th victory of the season and first shutout. Hafner had 17 saves in the loss.
Alaska next plays April 1st at Utah.
The Aces return to the Sullivan Arena to close out the 2015-16 season with a three-game series vs Colorado beginning Wednesday, April 6.
