Curran Recalled by AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced defenseman Kodie Curran has been recalled by Hartford.

Curran, 26, has played 45 games with the Swamp Rabbits this season and leads all Greenville blue-liners with 25 points. Curran also leads defensemen in goals (7) and is second in assists (18), while adding 37 penalty minutes.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Curran signed an American Hockey League contract with Hartford on Sept. 8, 2015, and made his professional debut with the Wolf Pack at the end of last season. He has registered three points (3a), 16 penalty minutes and a +2 rating in 16 appearances with Hartford overall, including two points (2a) in 14 games this season. In addition, Curran recorded two fights during his latest call-up, dropping the gloves with Albany's Chris McKelvie on Jan. 2 and Lehigh Valley's Samuel Morin on Jan. 16.

Prior to turning pro, he played five seasons in his hometown at the University of Calgary from 2010-15. He led all Canada West University Athletic Association (CWUAA) defensemen in points (24), goals (8) and assists (16) last season and earned First-Team All-CIS West honors for a second consecutive season. Curran also tied for fifth among all CIS defensemen in points. The 6'2, 200-pound blue-liner notched 96 points (17g, 72a) in 89 career contests overall.
