
Marlins Take Series from SwampDogs

Morehead City, N.C. - The Morehead City Marlins jumped out early for the second straight night en route to a 14-0 win over the Fayetteville SwampDogs to conclude the home- and-home series.
Christian Campbell (Rutgers) rocketed the offense for the Marlins, going 4-6 with two runs scored. Michael Druhan added his first homer of the year with a 2-5 night and 3 RBIs.
Marlins starter Wyatt Hamiliton (Quinnipac) was excellent for five innings, striking out six. Hamilton scattered five SwampDog hits, holding the Coastal Plain League's third best offense in check and improve to 1-0 on the year.
Tristen Gagan (Southeast Missouri) had a pair of hits to lead the Fayetteville offense.
Zack Martinelli (Seton Hill) falls to 0-1 with the loss.
Morehead City picks up their third straight win and improves to 6-3 on the year.
Fayetteville drops to 2-7. The SwampDogs hit the road again on Saturday night to take on the Forest City Owls at 7:05pm.
