Marlies Take out Aeros 6-2

HOUSTON--- Warren Peters and Jon DiSalvatore scored goals for Houston but the Toronto Marlies scored six unanswered and the Aeros saw their eight-game points streak come to an end with a 6-2 defeat Sunday at Toyota Center.

DiSalvatore, who also had an assist, netted his fifth goal of the year at 19:48 in the third period.

Dennis Endras made 34 saves for the Aeros, who dropped to 8-2-0-3. Houston maintained the top spot in the Western Conference despite the loss.

Matt Frattin scored twice for the Marlies and Greg Scott and Jerry D'Amigo added goals for Toronto, while Mark Owuya stopped 18 shots.

Peters put the Aeros on top 1:45 into the first period with a power play goal, but the Marlies answered with goals by Ryan Hamilton at 8:25 and Kenny Ryan at 13:30 in the first to take a 2-1 lead. The Marlies added two goals in both the second and third periods.

The Aeros continue their four-game homestand at Toyota Center against Abbotsford Thursday at 7:05 p.m. BOMB DROPPINGS Jed Ortmeyer served a one-game suspension Sunday... Jon DiSalvatore has points in nine-straight games (4-9=13)... DiSalvatore had his fourth two-point game of the year (1-1=2)... Warren Peters has a goal in three-straight games... Casey Wellman has points in eight of his last nine games and at least a point in all but two games this season.
