Capitals Assign DJ King to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have assigned forward DJ King to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

King, 27, has played in one game this season with Washington. The native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, has appeared in 118 NHL games with Washington and St. Louis, recording 11 points (four goals, seven assists) and 215 penalty minutes. The 6'3", 231-pound forward has appeared in 189 career AHL games with Worcester and Peoria, collecting 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) and 453 penalty minutes. King was acquired by Washington via trade from St. Louis on July 28, 2010. He was originally selected in the sixth round, 191st overall, by the Blues in the 2002 Entry Draft.
