Toronto Marlies News Release
Game Preview
The Toronto Marlies will look for revenge from Saturday's 2-1 loss in a rematch this afternoon at Scotiabank Arena when they duel with the Devils for a second straight day.
Saturday was a hard-fought, defensive battle that the Devils won despite the Marlies controlling play for much of the game and generating a number of high-quality chances on the Binghamton net.
The single goal is rare for the Marlies this season, who had scored 21 goals in their previous four games and have 62 goals on the season.
Chris Mueller is leading the charge offensively for the Marlies, with eight goals and 16 points so far this season. Trevor Moore is back with the team after being recalled by the Maple Leafs last week, and his scoring touch (9G, 3A) should be a nice addition to the offensive attack.
At the other end, Nick Lappin had the winning goal in Saturday's contest and leads the Devils in scoring with nine goals and 11 points. Rookie Marian Studenick shares a piece of the points lead with seven goals and four assists.
One key for Sunday's matchup will be converting on power play chances as both penalty kills have had some difficulties early in the season and enter the game sitting at a 75.0% success rate.
Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 and fans can catch all the action on Leafs Nation Network and AHLTV.
