PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers prospect Mario Kempe has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Phantoms, according to club general manager Paul Holmgren. Kempe will make his AHL debut tonight with the Phantoms when they visit the Binghamton Senators.

Kempe, a 20-year-old forward, joins the Phantoms after spending the 2008-09 season playing in his native Sweden. Prior to this year, Kempe played two seasons for the St. John's Fog Devils in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he totaled 48 goals and 43 assists for 91 points in 110 games.

Kempe was selected by the Flyers in the 5th round (122nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Kempe will make his Wachovia Spectrum debut this Friday when the Phantoms open a three-game weekend home stand against Toronto, followed by matchups with Grand Rapids on Saturday and Sunday.

There are just six regular season games remaining at the Wachovia Spectrum. Adult tickets are just $10 and kids tickets just $5 for the remainder of the 2008-09 season. Tickets are going fast for the final game on Friday, April 10 against the Hershey Bears. Tickets are available through ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200, at the Wachovia Complex box office or online at Phantomshockey.com.
