
Marcus Fizer Signs With Sonics

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 8 - The Seattle SuperSonics signed Austin Toros forward Marcus Fizer to a 10-day contract today, making him the 10th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2005-06 NBA Development League season and 60th overall since the league began play in November 2001.
Fizer, 6-8, 260, is the first Austin player to earn a GATORADE Call-Up and the fourth since March 1. Florida guard Andre Barrett signed with the Phoenix Suns on March 1, Arkansas center James Lang on March 2 and Fort Worth center Luke Schenscher on March 5.
The fourth overall selection in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, Fizer has played in 232 career NBA games with the Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 21.9 minutes, 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. He was acquired from the D-League available player pool by the Toros on November 22, 2005 and has played in 30 games (30 starts), averaging 20.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
