Marauders Remain Perfect, Sweep Mets

The Marauders (7-0) clamped down on the offense of the St. Lucie Mets (2-5) in a 4-1 win to complete a series sweep at First Data Field. RHP Jess Amedee (W, 2-0) retired all seven batters he faced after relieving RHP Pedro Vasquez. RHP Seth McGarry (S, 1) retired six of the seven batters he faced for a two-inning save. The Marauders scored in the first inning and never relinquished the lead. 1B Will Craig singled home SS Cole Tucker and 3B Trace Tam Sing doubled the lead with a bases loaded walk off Andrew Church (L, 0-2) later in the inning. The Mets threatened with the bases loaded and nobody out in the second inning, but Vasquez got a double play grounder and a fly out to limit the damage to a single run. Vasquez struck out four and did not walk a batter over 4 2/3 innings. Bradenton picked up insurance in the sixth inning. LF Logan Hill tripled and scored on a triple by RF Kevin Krause. Krause finished a home run shy of the cycle. CF Alfredo Reyes plated Krause with a safety squeeze.
