Marauders' Comeback Falls Short

Port St. Lucie, FL - The Marauders (32-20, 64-58) rallied from a 5-2 deficit to draw even 5-5, but the St. Lucie Mets (26-26, 61-61) walked off 6-5 winners on Stefan Sabol's two-out, two strike home run at Tradition Field on Wednesday night. RHP Miguel Rosario (L, 3-3) surrendered the home run, which cleared the batter's eye in straightaway center field, in the bottom of the ninth.

Wyatt Mathisen recorded a 4-for-4 night, including his third home run of the season. That eighth inning blast brought Bradenton within 5-4. 2B Michael Fransoso tied the game 5-5 later in the inning with an RBI single off Robert Coles (W, 5-2). 1B Jordan Steranka hit his third home run of the season in the sixth to aid the comeback.

LHP Cody Dickson started the game and struck out six without a walk over five innings. LHP Andy Otamendi fired two scoreless in relief and struck out two.

The loss drops the Marauders to four games out of first place.

NOTES: The game began at 6:34 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 93 degrees, and wind blowing 11 mph from right to left ... Mathisen's four-hit game was his first four-hit performance since August 16, 2014 with West Virginia ... Mets MLB Rehabber David Wright had two hits and scored a run, but struck out looking against Rosario in the eighth inning to finish 2-for-5 ...
