Bradenton Marauders News Release
Bradenton, FL --- The Marauders' Opening Night fortunes did not follow them into their Saturday night matchup with Clearwater as Bradenton fell 3-0 after failing to register a hit in the ball game. The Marauders surrendered a run in the 3rd inning, the only run that starter Derek Diamond (0-1) surrendered in his 4-inning outing. The first base runner for Bradenton did not reach until the 5th inning when Wyatt Hendrie earned a walk, the hometown boys would work another on that inning and threatened with men on the corners and just one gone in the inning, but the threat would not come to pass as Geovanny Planchart grounded into an inning-ending double play. Bradenton would only have a man reach second base again once when Jack Brannigan reached on a walk in the 9th and then stole second, but he would not advance from there. Threshers starter Samuel Aldegheri was credited with the win after pitching four innings of perfect baseball, striking out seven of the twelve men he faced in his outing. Aldegheri was joined by Eduar Segovia, Andrew Walling, Orion Kerkering, and Wesley Moore in the no-hit effort. Both teams move to 1-1 on the season and will face off at Noon on Sunday at LECOM Park in the opening series rubber match.
