
Mancari Earns 400th Career Point in Wolves' 6-2 Win

ROCKFORD, Ill.---The Chicago Wolves three goal second period held off the Rockford Icehogs in a 6-2 victory Saturday night at the Rockford Metrocentre.
Right wing Mark Mancari collected two goals and recorded his 400th AHL career point in helping the Wolves earn the victory.
Rockford (21-24-1-4) opened up scoring at 6:05 of the first period on a power play when left wing Rostislav Olsez took a slapshot from the top of the slot when his dropped down and slid passed Chicago goaltender Matt Climie and into the back of the net.
Chicago (27-18-1-3) tied up the score 1-1 when forward Tim Miller's slapshot hit a Rockford opponent's stick and forward Michael Davies tapped home the rebound at 14:32.
Mancari scored his first of the night at 16:04 when he sent the puck passed IceHogs netminder Carter Hutton after receiving a backhanded pass from center Steve Reinprecht.
Rockford evened out the score 2-2 when defenseman Shawn Lalonde's slapshot collided with Climie's right shoulder and slid into the net 1:02 of the second period.
Climie (15-7-0) stopped 39 of 41 shots on goal.
Wolves forward Nathan Longpre took back the lead at 5:49 when he received a pass from Davies and drilled a shot top shelf. The Wolves doubled their lead with their second goal in 10 seconds when Stefan Schnieder picked up a loose puck in the crease and taped the puck into the back of the net and past Hutton and sending the Rockford netminder to the bench.
Hutton (10-8-1) stopped 15 of 20 shots in 28:23 of action before giving way to Alexander Salak, who thwarted all 15 shots he faced in 31:03 of action.
Mancari scored his second goal of the night when he shot through three Rockford opponents and scored after receiving an assist from Reinprecht at 8:23 of the second period.
Left wing Antoine Roussel closed out scoring with a short-handed empty-net tally at 16:51 of the third period.
The Wolves return home to the Allstate Arena to battle it out against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
