Aeros win 5-4

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- Jon DiSavatore scored with 29 seconds left in regulation to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-4 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday at Van Andel Arena.

Kris Foucault, David McIntyre, Jed Ortmeyer and Marco Scandella also scored for Houston, and Justin Fontaine notched two assists. Darcy Kuemper made 30 saves for Houston, which improved to 25-13-3-9 and has won two-straight.

DiSalvatore's goal came 17 seconds after Jaokim Anderrson tied it for Grand Rapids with goaltender Tom McCollum pulled in favor of the extra attacker. Drew Bagnall earned the assist and the Aeros improved to 16-6-0-3 on the road.

Houston battled back from a 3-2 deficit after two periods to score three times in the final 20 minutes. Foucault started the rally with his 10th goal of the season at the 2:55 mark, and McIntyre put the Aeros up 4-3 at 8:31 with his 13th goal of the season. Anderrson tied at 19:14, but DiSalvatore responded at 19:31 with his team-leading 15th goal of the season and second game-winner.

The Aeros continue their franchise record 11-game road trip at 7 p.m. CST on Tuesday at Milwaukee.The team returns home March 10 against Grand Rapids at 7:35 p.m at Toyota Center.
