Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - Colorado Mammoth forward Brian Langtry has been named the National Lacrosse League's offensive player of the week for his record-setting performance in Thursday's game against the Portland LumberJax.
Langtry set the Mammoth single-game goal record with nine, doubling his total for the season to 18. He added four assists to lead all scorers with 13 points in the Mammoth's 16-15 loss.
Langtry's nine-goal game was one short of the league record of 10, achieved by Gary Gait and Paul Gait in 1999 and 1994, respectively. It also marks the most goals scored by an individual player in one game since John Grant of the Rochester Knighthawks scored nine on Jan. 27, 2007.
The NLL also announced that Toronto Rock goaltender Bob Watson was named defensive and overall player of the week. The New York Titans' Mitch Belisle was named transition player of the week and Sean Morris of the San Jose Stealth was named rookie of the week.
