Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Denver, CO - The Colorado Mammoth turned three five-goal quarters into an 18-9 triumph over the Calgary Roughnecks on Friday night at Pepsi Center.
The home club came out of the gate firing, jumping to a 5-1 lead after the opening quarter. Five different Calgary goal scorers then narrowed the deficit in the second frame as Colorado entered the halftime break with an 8-6 advantage.
Backstopped by Dillon Ward's impressive 50-save effort, the Colorado defence held the visiting Roughnecks to just three goals in the second half.
Each club's top sniper led their respective scoring attack, with Callum Crawford recording a game-high nine points (six goals, three assists) for the Mammoth while Calgary's Curtis Dickson tallied two goals and added a trio of helpers.
Christian Del Bianco, who received the start for Calgary, and fellow goaltender Frank Scigliano made a combined 35 stops in the team's fifth straight loss.
The Roughnecks (3-6) return to action tomorrow, March 4 at 7:30 p.m., when the league-leading Georgia Swarm (7-1) visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for a Western Party presented by Lammle's Western Wear and Tack. The Saturday night match-up will feature halftime and post-game performances from Calgary native and 2016 Alberta Country Music Association (ACMA) nominee Cole Bradley.
Single game tickets are available at Ticketmaster and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office for as low as $39 for adults, $28 for students and $22 for children (plus applicable fees).
