Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth has designated the 23 players that will take the floor at Pepsi Center on Friday, Dec. 30, when the club opens the National Lacrosse League season against the Philadelphia Wings.
"We've just completed a tremendous training camp with a very talented group of players," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "The coaching staff had some difficult decisions to make, but they are excited about this team and very confident in the players that will be on the floor this season."
The team finished its player-evaluation process after last weekend's trip to St. Paul, Minn., where the Mammoth beat the Minnesota Swarm 10-9 in overtime of a closed-door scrimmage at the Xcel Energy Center.
The Mammoth returns 14 players from last season's team that went 8-8 and made a playoff appearance as the No. 3 seed from the West Division.
The team will announce its captains at an open house for fans on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Pepsi Center. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.
