QUACK TRACKS

Split

The Mallards split a pair of games with the Rush last weekend and now trail fourth place Rapid City by three points and third place Missouri by four points in the Turner Conference standings.

Up and Down

The Mallards have gone 5-4-0 in their last nine games; Quad City has neither won nor lost consecutive games during that stretch.

Busy

The Mallards this weekend will complete a stretch of six games in nine days. Beginning tomorrow evening against Fort Wayne the Mallards will play four games in five nights and eight games in 12 nights.

Home Cooking

The Mallards have won back-to-back home games, gone 5-1-0 in their last six home tilts and turned in a record of 12-4-0 in their last 16 i wireless Center outings.

On the Road

Last Saturday night's win ended the Mallards' four-game road losing streak. The Mallards have gone 3-8-0 in their last 11 away games.

Firepower

The Mallards rank second in the league in goal scoring (3.5 per game). The Mallards, who have scored 182 goals, trail only Wichita (190 goals) in goals. The Mallards have scored six or more goals in two of their last three games.

Power Play

The Mallards remain the league leaders in power play efficiency (22.8 percent). The Mallards have scored a league-best total of 60 power play goals, putting them well ahead of the Evansville and Arizona, who are tied for second with 47 power play goals. The Mallards' Brandon Marino and Eric Giosa are tied for the league lead in power play goals (11), just ahead of teammate John Snowden (10), who is tied for third.

Best Shot

The Mallards have outshot the opposition in six straight games and in nine of their last ten outings and take a league-high average of 37 shots per game.

Sudden Life

With last Saturday's shootout victory in Rapid City, the Mallards improved to 6-1 in the shootout this season. No club in the league has enjoyed more shootout success than Quad City. The Mallards have also gone 4-0 in games decided in overtime- the best sudden death record in the league. The Mallards' 10-1 mark in games settled in either overtime or the shootout is also the best in the CHL this season.

2012

The Mallards have gone 12-12-0 in January and February.

Little Big Man

Marino (32-39-71) last Saturday recorded the Mallards' first hat trick of the season and the first of his career. By totaling four points in that game Marino matched a Mallard season high and a personal career high. The hat trick also propelled him into a tie for the league goal-scoring lead (32) with Evansville's Brian Bicek. With last Saturday's outburst, Marino became the second player in the CHL this season- joining league leader Todd Robinson (77 points) of the IceMen - to top 70 points. In addition to being tied for the league lead in goals and power play goals and ranking second in points, Marino is also tied for second in shorthanded goals (3) and ranks fourth in assists.

G-Man

Giosa (27-38-65) is tied for third in the league in points and tied for fourth in goals. He is riding a seven-game point-scoring streak (6-5-11) and has scored eight goals in his last ten games.

Brown Out

Jared Brown (20-35-55) leads CHL rookies in points and assists and is tied for third among rookies in goals.

Milestones

Giosa established a new career high for goals (27) by scoring last Friday against Rapid City...Marino is closing in on 100 career assists. He has collected 98 assists over the course of his first three seasons.

Ins and Outs

Goaltender David McKee was called up to the American Hockey League's Peoria Rivermen yesterday...Forward Sean Flanagan (concussion) has missed the Mallards' last five games.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Fort Wayne

The Komets have won five straight games against Quad City after dropping the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Marino (2-6-8) and the Komets' Brett Smith (5-3-8) and Artem Podshendyalov (3-5-8) are the top point scorers in the season series.

Bloomington

The Mallards have gone 5-2-0 against Bloomington this season and have posted a 3-1-0 mark against the Blaze on home ice. The two teams last met on February 4 when Quad City edged Bloomington 5-4 in a shootout at the i wireless Center. Marino (6-6-12) is the top point producer in the season series, just ahead of teammates Giosa (6-4-10) and Justin Chwedoruk (4-6-10).

Evansville

The IceMen have won each their first three games against the Mallards this season and shut out Quad City in the last two meetings between the two clubs. Bryan Gillis was between the pipes for Evansville when the IceMen blanked the Mallards 2-0 on January 17 and 3-0 on January 20. Bicek has scored five times in the first three games of the season series, while Marino (2-0-2) leads the way offensively for the Mallards against the IceMen.

Report Card Night

Students who earn an "A" or an quivalent on their report cards or present a letter from a teacher of administrator indicating academic sucess, get a free ticket to the game. Students can get their free ticket at the Mallards' front office or from the i wireless Center box office. Students in grades K through 12 are eligible for this offer. Free tickets are for lower or upper bowl seating but not for glass row. One free ticket is available per student.

Stanley Cup

The Stanley Cup comes to the Quad Cities for the Mallards' game against the IceMen. Fans will have the chance to have their photo taken with the cup beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the i wireless Center main concourse. Photos with the cup will be available for $5 to fans using their own camera and for $10 if taken by the Mallards' photographer. Photos with the cup will be available throughout the game.

TICKETS

Single Game Tickets

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season contests are now available. Fans can contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364 or tickets@myqcmallards.com for more information about both ticket packages and single game tickets. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $12 in the upper level, $17 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates. In addition, tickets are available to military personnel for $2 off the regular adult rate.

Group Tickets

Groups of at least ten can receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of other great group benefits. Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of the Mallards. The Mallards' game on Thursday night against Bloomington will not air on AM 1230 because of a conflict with University of Illinois basketball. Thursday evening's game will be available via free audio webcast at www.myqcmallards.com. The Mallards' remaining games this week will air as usual on Fox Sports Radio 1230.
