QUACK TRACKS

Busy Weekend

The Mallards went 1-2-0 while playing three games in three nights last weekend. After falling in Fort Wayne 4-1 last Friday, the Mallards split a two game home series with Arizona.

Tight

The Mallards enter tomorrow night's game against Rapid City just one point behind the fourth place Rush in the Turner Conference standings. Rapid City does have two games in hand on the Mallards.

Home Cooking

Yesterday's loss ended the Mallards' three-game home winning streak. The Mallards have gone 10-4-0 in their last 14 home games.

On the Road

The Mallards have lost back-to-back road games and have gone 2-6-0 in their last eight away games.

Firepower

The Mallards rank second in the league in goal scoring (3.5 per game). The Mallards have scored a total of 164 goals- just one fewer than league-leading Wichita.

Power Play

The Mallards remain the league leaders in power play efficiency (22.2 percent). The Mallards have scored a league-best total of 55 power play goals, putting them well ahead of the Sundogs, who rank second with 44 power play goals.

Best Shot

The Mallards have outshot the opposition in five of their last six games and take a league-high average of 37.2 shots per game.

Little Big Man

Brandon Marino (28-36-64) is tied for the league lead in goals and power play goals (10), ranks second in points (and is just one behind Evansville's Todd Robinson in the race for the league lead), is tied for second in shorthanded goals (3) and is tied for third in assists. Marino has produced 14 points (four goals and ten assists) in his last ten games.

G-Man

Eric Giosa (23-34-57) has scored four goals- and totaled six points- in his last five games and now ranks fourth in the league in goals and power play goals (9), fifth in points and sixth in assists.

Brown Out

Jared Brown (19-31-50) is riding a five-game point-scoring streak (5-4-9) and has notched seven goals and 13 points in his last nine games. By scoring and adding an assist yesterday, Brown joined Marino and Giosa as the third Mallard to reach 50 points this season. Rapid City is the only other club that can boast three 50-point scorers (Shawn Limpright, Jesse Schultz and Konrad Reeder). Brown leads CHL rookies in points and assists and ranks third in goals.

Snowy

John Snowden has recorded points in four straight games (2-5-7) and piled up 13 points (four goals and nine assists) in his last nine games. With power play goals in back-to-back games last Friday and Saturday, Snowden moved into a tie with Marino and Dayton's Brandon Naurato for the league lead (10).

Three in Three

The Mallards last weekend played three games in three nights for the fifth time this season. With yesterday's defeat Quad City dropped to 2-3-0 when playing its third game in as many nights.

Milestones

Obi Aduba collected his one hundredth point as a Mallard by picking up an assist last Saturday against Arizona... Giosa is one goal away from his fiftieth over two seasons with the Mallards... Marino is closing in on 100 career assists. He has collected 95 assists over the course of his first three seasons.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Rapid City

The Mallards have gone 2-1-0 against the Rush this season. The Rush's Schultz (1-5-6) is the top point producer in the season series while the Mallards' Marino (2-1-3) and Giosa (2-1-3) are the only players to have scored more than once in the first three meetings between the two clubs. The Mallards will visit Rapid City for the first time this season when the Flock heads to South Dakota for a two game set February 24 and 25.

Wichita

The Mallards have split four games with Wichita, but the Thunder has earned six points from the season series compared to four for Quad City because the Mallards' two wins came in the shootout (December 23) and in overtime (January 6). The Mallards have gone 0-2-0 in Wichita this season and are 0-3-0 all time on the road against the Thunder. The Mallards' Jared Brown (3-2-5) and Wichita's Matt Robinson and Alex Bourret (1-4-5) are the top point scorers in the season series.

Arizona

The Mallards have gone 2-2-0 against Arizona, but the Sundogs have a slight edge in the series. Because one of Quad City's victories came in overtime, Arizona has picked up five points from the head-to-head clashes between the two clubs, while the Mallards have pocketed four. Giosa (4-4-8) is the top scorer in the season series.
