Central Hockey League Announces Suspensions

February 13, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


GLENDALE, AZ (February 13, 2012) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the following disciplinary actions resulting from recent games:

Evansville IceMen forward Mike Sgroi has been suspended for four (4) games as a consequence of his actions in the IceMen game on February 11 at Tulsa. Sgroi was assessed a match penalty for an "˜Illegal Check to Head' and as a result will miss his team's next four games (2/14 at RGV, 2/15 at RGV, 2/17 at TUL and 2/19 vs. ARZ).

Evansville IceMen defenseman Steve Makway has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in the IceMen game on February 11 at Tulsa. Makway was assessed a game misconduct for "˜Fighting off the Playing Surface' and as a result will miss his team's next game (2/14 at RGV).

Tulsa Oilers forward Marty Standish has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence for his actions in the Oilers game on February 12 versus Rio Grande Valley. As a result of a request to review, Standish was observed to commit an "˜Illegal Check to Head' infraction and as a result will miss his team's next two games (2/14 vs. DAY and 2/17 vs. EVA).
