Evansville's Todd Robinson Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (February 13, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Evansville forward Todd Robinson has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending February 12, 2012. This marks the third time this season that the veteran has won the weekly honor (November 7 and January 9).

Robinson becomes the first player since Jeff Christian (Youngstown) to win the weekly award three times in a season. Christian went on to win the CHL Most Valuable Player award that season.

The Trail, British Colombia native moved back into the points lead in the CHL thanks to his nine points (four goals, five assists) in four games last week. Robinson now has 65 points this season with 15 goals and 50 assists.

The week began for the CHL All-Star on Tuesday night in Bloomington where Robinson's shootout winner and two assists helped his team to a 5-4 win. He followed that up the next night with his quietest performance of the week in a 4-3 loss to Fort Wayne (one goal).

On Friday, the 5-8, 175-pound forward scored the game winning goal in overtime and had two assists in the 3-2 win over Dayton. His final game of the week came in Tulsa where he scored another goal and had an assist in the IceMen's 4-1 win over the Oilers.

Evansville (28-13-4) is currently tied with Fort Wayne for first place in the Turner Conference.
