Mallards to Roast Kerry Toporowski for Charity

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that the team and The MARK of the Quad Cities will honor legendary defenseman Kerry Toporowski with a Charity Roast, Reception and Celebration on November 27th beginning at 10 p.m. The roast will be a featured part of Kerry Toporowski Night as the Mallards retire number 77 and give away a special Kerry Toporowski DVD.
Tickets for the Kerry Toporowski Roast, Reception and Celebration are on sale now for Mallards season ticket holders at The MARK box office or via phone at (563) 326-1111. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday. Tickets are $25 with proceeds going to purchase cancer equipment for Genesis Medical Center.
The evening will feature special guests that will recount stories of Toporowski's legendary on-ice highlights and off-ice antics. A video tribute is also planned, and Greg Dwyer from Q106 will be on hand to emcee the event. Hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be served with a cash bar. The Mallards are in Missouri on Friday before returning home for Opening Night 2004 on Saturday vs. the Kansas City Outlaws. Valley Bank presents an Opening Night Appearance by the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders. Pre-game festivities began at 7:15 p.m. before an 8:00 p.m. face off. On Friday, the First Captial Financial Pre-Game Show begins at 6:35 p.m. with opening face-off set for 7:00 p.m. After the game, stay tuned for the Allstate Insurance Del Newton/ Christy Cox Post-Game Show. The game will be broadcast on WFXN AM 1230 and on-line at www.qcmallards.com.
