Mallards to Celebrate Alumni Weekend February 18 and 19

MOLINE, Ill. (February 9, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they will celebrate the team's proud history and welcome back former Mallard greats over the Mallards' Alumni Weekend February 18 and February 19.

Mallards alumni will return to the i wireless Center as the Mallards take on the Bloomington PrairieThunder on Friday, February 18 and the Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday, February 19. Both games will face off at 7:05 p.m. The Mallards join with WQAD News 8, 97X and The Dispatch and Rock Island Argus in presenting alumni weekend.

Among those slated to appear at alumni weekend are Andy Fermoyle, Martin Fillion, Steve Gibson, Carl LeBlanc, Mark McFarlane, Howie Rosenblatt and Sergei Zvyagin.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize those who did so much to build the great tradition of Mallards hockey," said Mallards President Chris Presson. "We're also very happy to give fans the chance to reconnect with some of the faces of the Mallards' proud past during alumni weekend."

Former Mallards will be introduced on the ice at the i wireless Center before both the Friday and Saturday night games and will take part in special on-ice intermission events following the first period of each evening's game. Flock alumni will also sign autographs for fans both nights.

The Mallards and TGI Friday's will host an alumni luncheon on Saturday, February 19 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Friday's location adjacent to the i wireless Center at 1425 River Drive in Moline. Tickets to the alumni luncheon are available to the general public and can be purchased by calling the Mallards at 309-277-1364 or by stopping by the team's office at the i wireless Center during normal business hours. Tickets for the luncheon only are available for $15. Fans can purchase a ticket to the luncheon plus a seat for the game later that evening for $25; a Mallards cap can be added to this package for an additional $10. After the February 19 game, fans are invited to join Mallards players past and present for a post-game party at TGI Friday's.

The Mallards' new Power Play Plan offers fans the chance to purchase four tickets to either the February 18 or February 19 game as well as six vouchers good for tickets to any remaining home game. The Power Play Plan is available through the Mallards business office (309-277-1364) or online at myqcmallards.com.

Tickets for the alumni weekend games are also available in person at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the first period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home, the ticket office is open from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the first period.
