MOLINE, Ill. (April 1, 2015) - Jason Dale scored two goals and added an assist and Mathew Maione scored once and piled up three assists as the Brampton Beast (22-41-3) claimed a wild 6-5 victory over the host Quad City Mallards (34-28-7) Wednesday night. The loss halted the third place Mallards' three game winning streak, while the win ended the Beast's five game losing streak.

The Beast outscored the Mallards 3-2 in a tumultuous third period. Brampton's Bobby Hughes- who also had two assists- broke a 3-3 deadlock from the doorstep just 18 seconds into the third. Just under two and half minutes later Dale broke in alone shorthanded to give the Beast- which had twice trailed by two earlier in the evening- a two goal cushion.

The Mallards trimmed the deficit to 5-4 when Mario Lamoureux's centering pass caromed in off a foe at 8:15 of the third but Brampton's Adam Chapman responded just 23 seconds later by jamming in what proved to be the game winner. Evan Mosher replaced starter Parker Milner in goal for the Mallards after Chapman's goal.

The Mallards again pulled within one when Austin Coldwell's shot from the right point fluttered past Beast goaltender Parker Van Buskirk at 9:56, but the Mallards were unable to complete their comeback bid.

It was the Beast who fought back from a 3-1 deficit to even the score in the second period. Kevin Baker's second goal of the game stretched what had been a 2-1 Mallard advantage to 3-1 at 4:40 of the second. Just 48 seconds after Baker swept the puck in in a goalmouth scramble, Maione's shot caromed off Milner, off the back glass and somehow into the Mallard net to kick-start the Brampton rally. Dale converted a rebound to tie the game at three at 17:37 of the second.

The Mallards eventually fell despite jumping out to a 2-0 first period lead with goals from Baker and Joe Perry. Baker buried Matt Neal's centering pass to open the scoring at 3:01 of the first. Perry's one timer from the left wing circle doubled the margin at 10:20. The Beast narrowed the gap to 2-1 with just 30 seconds left in the opening frame. Jeff Brown got Brampton on the scoreboard for the first time by firing the puck home from the high slot.

The Mallards return to action on the road Friday night against the Rapid City Rush. The Mallards' next home game is their regular season finale against the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday, April 11 at 7:05 p.m. April 11 will also be Fan Appreciation Night at the iWireless Center.
